Women on Water at the Squadron

WOMEN ON WATER

Start your sailing journey!

Ever wanted to try your hand at sailing on a large yacht!!  Come and join us for some fun and learning at the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron (RSAYS) at Outer Harbour.

Women on Water (WOW) is a short course program designed to encourage and help women interested in learning the basic fundamentals of sailing.  It is held a few times a year and run over a weekend by members of the RSAYS who are experienced sailors and keelboat owners.  You will be learning on their yachts with a number of mentors to guide you.  Each day is a combination of on-shore learning and instruction, then it will be out on the water to put your learning into practice.

At the end of two days you will have learned the basics of sailing, and if you are interested, there may be opportunity to participate in other races at the Club and join the community of women coming together to share the excitement and adventure of sailing.

This program does not provide you with a qualification, but it provides you with the skills to start your sailing journey. It is run by volunteers and supported by SheSails and the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron.

Suitable for beginners or those with a basic background.
